AGATHA CHRISTIE'S

Agatha Christie's, THE MOUSETRAP
was comissioned by Queen Mary of Great Britain
in 1951 and began as a radio mystery program.
It was later elaborated by Christie into the play we
know today. It is still running in its original
theatre, housed there since the opening in 1952.
The play has broken several world-wide theatrical
records for its continuous run. By the '70s, it
had played to well over four million people,
and by this writing, another six million have sat in
the dark theatre speculating who the murderer is.
To this day, THE MOUSETRAP remains among
London's most in-demand theatrical attractions.
Since Christie signed over the royalties to her
Grandson at the opening in 1952, it is estimated
that he has become a multi-millionaire many times over.
Playwrights today can only dream of this
kind of monumental long-running success.
