A.R. Gurney's Love Letters is the only show in
our past two seasons not performed in our theatre. The
simplicity of staging the piece afforded the opportunity
for presentation at smaller, more intimate venues. We
presented Love Letters as a
Dinner & Theatre Package in
the Long Prairie Country Club for two Saturday evenings,
and for two Sunday matinees at Long Prairie's Prairie Arts
Center. Each of the four performances featured a different cast:
Gail Mayerchak & Chuck Leverich; Chris & Lee Loging.
Jan Dalen & Loren Miller; Nancy Leasman & Steve Hinrichs.

Love Letters was presented as a theatre fund-raising event,
which included a concert in the theatre featuring guest
artist, Miami, Florida contralto, Martha Hester, and
The Prairie Players' artistic director, pianist and
vocalist, Lee Pittman. Love Letters was performed
in early April, 2000, culminating with the concert,
Old Friends Together...Again!
on April 14, 2000.
