Louisa May Alcott's
Little Women

Following the overwhelming
success of our Thanksgiving '06 staging of
Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, The Players
present another literary classic. The novel has been adapted
for the stage by several writers, and more recently for a stage musical.
Our adaptation is by John D. Ravold. The work was filmed in 1933 by
Warner Brothers Studio, and starred a young Katherine Hepburn in
the role of Jo - directed by the legendary George Cukor. It was
again filmed in 1949 by Metro Goldwyn Mayer studio, and
featured the late June Allyson in the role of Jo.

The young actresses playing the Marsh sisters
in our production are all new to The Players' stage, and
will capture your heart in the familiar roles: Margaret Kroll
as Jo; Elizabeth Becker as Meg; Delany Churchwell as Beth; Jenna
Atkinson as Amy. They are supported by veteran actors within
The Players' roster:  Loren Miller as Father; Barb Giesk as Marmee;
Steve McCoy as Laurie; Vinny Wenziel as Brooke; Tim McCoy
as Professor; Gail Mayerchak as Aunt Marsh.

Numerous set peices for LITTLE WOMEN
have been provided through the kind generosity
of The Christie House Historical Society. The property
has recently been added to The National Registry of Historic Places.
The beautiful Queen Anne style house contains history frozen in time.
With beautiful original moldings and splendid stained glass throughout
the house, it is an accurate reflection of life in a refined manner. It is rare
that one finds an historic property unaltered in its original condition, intact
as it was during the builder's lifetime and residency. The Prairie Players are
honored and grateful to this organization, and encourage the public to
visit this National Registry of Historic Places property.
